To Splurge or Stinge? Fashion Dupes

To Splurge or Stinge?
My Favourite Fashion Dupes
When it comes to the clothing I buy a major deciding factor about what I actually spend my money on has a lot to do with the price of the item itself.
I am what you call a “MASSIVE STINGE”! I want nice clothes and I want to look like I have spent lots of money on my clothes, (because I am a vain 19 year old girl, why else?) but I don’t want to have to pay big money on something that I will only wear a couple of times.                                                                          So how you ask can I be a huge stinge and still manage to maintain my online-shopping addiction without being a homeless bum? (Lies! I still live with my parents!) But the answer my friends is “Dupes”

Today I will be sharing with you some my all time favorite fashion dupes that I have purchased along the line, I hope you enjoy!
P.S. All items listed are way under $50.00 because there ain't nothing affordable about 50 bucks!!

Zara Skort
Zara skort US $49.90 AU $53.13
This thing is EVERYWHERE!!! And I don’t really want to spend 50 dollars on something that every bitch in town is going to be rocking (cue all Supré clothing).
So why not spend $10.00 instead!

Dupe: Ebay

This little puppy cost me 4.99 for the skirt and 4.99 for postage, I bought a white and a black pair and I love them! I will admit that the back of the white skort is a tad sheer, but a pair of nude or white underwear will solve that problem for you, and for $9.98 who tha hell cares!

Unif  “66” Jersey
Now this little bad boy is expensive! It retails at $129.00! Eeep! It’s simply not worth that kind of money when this kind of fashion trend will not be in forever.

Dupe: Romwe "66" Print White T-shirt

For $28.99 with free postage this thing is a steal if you love this kind of  style, which I do! The letters are just printed on instead of sewn on and you can obviously tell that the quality is not as good as the original but other than that I cannot fault it, the minute I saw this I knew I had to have it! Be quick to grab this, its sells out fast!

Grab it here: http://www.romwe.com/66-print-white-tshirt-p-70486.html

Joyrich Burning Joyrich 23 Sleevless Tank

Now with this one, I was willing to fork out the $90.00 because I loved this, but I couldn't find it anywhere, so when I stumbled across it on Romwe I jumped at the chance to own it!

Dupe: Romwe Flame "23" Print Sleeveless Shirt
I bought this for $22.99 and although I had to do some minor tweaking to it I wear this all the time and it was defiantly the worth the 23 bucks I paid for it.

Unif Hellbound Platform

I LOVE these shoes but they retail at $250.00, now I think treating yourself to an expensive pair of shoes is fine but for almost $300.00, I just can’t do that.
Dupe: Ebay
It took me a while to take the risk and actually purchase these but I’m only disappointed that I didn't get them sooner! I adore these shoes, probably the most comfortable pair I own, and I own 4 pairs of Jeffrey Campbell’s! They retail at $35.99 + $16.99 postage and the quality is great!

It’s Make up time!

Now I know its quiet unusual to have an exact dupe item of make up as most come in similar colours or makes, however this little dupe is a gem! I’m sure you’re all familiar with the “Urban Decay Naked 1 and Naked 2 palettes” am I right?
These pallets are probably one of the most well known items of makeup because almost every YouTube guru and makeup enthusiast owns one, don’t get me wrong I love make up too, but I don’t like the $52.00 price tag on each of these! So I found myself this!
Dupe: Aliexpress

Now I bought these on a whim honestly not even expecting to receive the item at all, but when they were delivered on my door step I was blown away! The packing is IDENTICAL and so is the colour of the eye shadows themselves. They even came with the brushes that come in the real Urban Decay palettes; I also received a “MAC” black eyeliner as a free gift too! I wasn't expecting these to be great but I am very pleasantly surprised at how pigmented these eye shadows actually are and I would recommend this dupe to anyone! I purchased mine together for 15.80 and unfortunately I can’t find that seller anymore but the ones below are only 17.00 with free postage, Try for yourself and see how you go!

I hope you enjoyed this small collection of my favourite fashion dupes, I’m sure it won’t be the last one I do so follow me to see more!
Yours truly Miss Mad.

Top 10 Breakup songs for a 21st century girl!

Top 10 Breakup songs for a 21st century girl!

After the initial “I will never leave my room and eat another piece of food ever again” phase has passed, and trust me it will! You may find yourself finding other ways to get over your break up. For me it was researching ways in which I could make myself feel better about the end of my relationship. I read a number of self help articles, they didn't help, so I decided on a different approach and typed the obvious into the search engine. Scrolling through all of the lists I found myself more confused than inspired. Out of all of the songs listed I probably knew about 20% of them and that was only because I had been forced to listen to them by my parents! So I've compiled a list of breakup songs for the girls born in the 90’s, because face it, breakups never go out of style.
*WARNING! All songs listed are made to empower the listener, if you’re still in the wallowing in self pity stage then grab yourself a copy of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” album, you will not regret it!

1. Best thing I never had – Beyonce
Why: this song is for all of the ladies that were in the beginning too madly in love to see how crappy the man they were with really was. It’s a song of pure girl power. It’s for all of the women out there that had the strength to leave the jerk that was treating them like crap. “You showed your ass and baby yes I saw the real you”. Umm Hell Yeah Beyonce!

2. Tears Dry on Their Own – Amy Winehouse
Why: Although this song is still slightly leaning towards the self wallowing phase the message of the song is great for all of those women who were brutally dumped by an asshole. It’s practical and realistic, and my best friend swears she got over her 18 month relationship listening to this song alone. The proof is in the depressing song ladies.

3. Bounce – Calvin Harris ft. Kellis
Why: It’s a party song, and who doesn't love a drunken party when we’re mourning a relationship? Nobody that’s who! This is a song to sing when you’re seeing the upside to the end of your relationship, even if you do end up crying in the bathroom at the end of the night.

4. Numb – Rihanna
Why: This song hasn’t even been released on the charts yet so I won’t expect many people to know this one but come on, its Rihanna! Despite her minor relapse earlier this year, she ended it with Chris Brown after he was a major jerk to her.(I could say ALOT more but I don’t want to offend the Chris Brown fans out there) And now look at her, she is the most badass chick ever. If you can manage to make bitterness look sexy then why the hell not try it!

5. I Will Survive – Gloria Gaynor
Why: Yes Ok I know I said this list was for girls of the 21st century, but seriously who doesn't know this song. Singstar anybody?

6. All My Pride – J.Lo
Why: what is this song saying to all men that treated us like crap when we wanted them and came running back confessing their love when we wised up and left? TOO BAD! SO SAD! This song is also my situation in a nut shell and is defiantly on my most played list right now...I'm not embarrassed.

7.  Cry Me a River – Justin Timberlake
Why: Basically the exact same message as above except it’s got a 90’s boy band feel and Timberland makes a sneaky appearance towards the end, Ohh Right!

8. Smile – Lilly Allen
Why: don’t let the sweet voice of Lily Allen disguise the badass content of this song. It speaks of a man who cheats, a girl who struggles to cope with it and the amazing turn around that can come with a little girl time. Have you ever heard of the saying “If you’re happy I’m happy”?  Well this song has nothing to do with that and in fact reflects a realistic outlook on a break up. You break our heart, man or women we WANT you to suffer in the burning pits of hell...it’s a way of life!

9. Riding Solo – Jason Derulo
Why: Part of me is extremely embarrassed about listing this song in my top 10 break up songs and up until 2 days ago it would never have made it on the list...BUT I found myself listening to this on my iPod (Nano 4th Gen 08 release, Oh yeah I’m up to date with technology) and I was loving life for the whole 4 minutes and 1 second of this song, I mean who doesn't wear sunglasses in the club?

10. Me Myself and I – Beyonce
Why: Because it’s like the ultimate break up song for girls of the 21st century! Why else!

I hope these songs will be enough to get you through these shitty times, and let me know how you go!

Yours truly Miss Mad.

Welcome to my blog

Welcome...to my blog

Hello and welcome to my very first entry of my very first blog. Not a very promising first sentence I know, but do not fear, I made sure to do plenty of research (scrolling through fashion blogs when I should have been taking calls at work), before I hit the words “start blogging”.

I started my research by typing the words “How to start a blog” (Einstein look out!) into the Google search engine and after looking for a whole 5 minutes I stumbled across an article that read “10 things NOT to do when starting a blog”. I scrolled through the list in absolute horror and realised that I had absolutely no hope in writing a blog that people would want to read, EVER. But after recent events which I will whine about later, (if you let me) I now consider myself to be a bit of a rebel, and what do rebels do? They break the rules!

Let me go into a little more detail about some of the rules I will so devilishly be breaking,
Rule 1: Don’t make the blog all about you.
I am a 19 year old girl who has started this blog to help myself get over a breakup, how is this blog not going to be all about me! I want to share with you all the 200 stages of grief and the 887 different emotions I am experiencing in the hopes that at least one women out there will say “Oh my gosh! That’s me! (Give or take the “Oh my gosh”)

But do not fear, this blog will not all be about the tragic failure of my relationship; No, I am also an avid lover of all things fashion and beauty. So consider this blog a man’s worst nightmare! A chaotic mix of clothing, make up and the odd nail art tutorial that all has been mixed together with a large dash of bitterness, anger and a shit load of self empowerment! This leads me to my next broken rule;

Rule 2: Do not blog about every topic under the sun!

Face it, I’m a mess, this blog will be about EVERYTHING!

I hope you will see my total lack of knowledge and experience to be somewhat endearing, and join me on this journey that will hopefully allow me and many other women out there to find that little part of us that we once lost.

Even if you stop reading here and never think of this again, I thank you for making it to the final sentence of my first entry, I appreciate it.
